A request of the Hadassah, American women’s Zionist organization maintaining hospitals in Palestine, submitted to the municipality of Tiberias for a subsidy of the Hadassah work was rejected by the city council.

The Hadassah asked for a subsidy in view of its work in the city. The request was turned down by a vote of 4 to 3 in the council, the three Jewish councillors voting for the subsidy, while the mayr, a Jew, cast his vote with the Arabs against granting it.
