John Finn, Eastern representative of Cecil De Mille, the motion picture producer, left on Sunday for Hollywood, the “Jewish Daily Bulletin” learns, to bring to the attention of Mr. De Mille the objections to the film “King of Kings” raised in Jewish circles.
Mr. Flinn is the representative of Mr. De Mille on a committee of five which was formed as a result of a conference in the office of Will Hays, with Alfred M. Coben president of the Independent Order B’nai Brith and Dr. Boris D. Bogen. The Bulletin learns that besides the representative of Will Hays, Alfred M. Cohen Mr. Flinn, Dr. Boris Bogen, and a rabbi comprise the committee which has formulated a request for revisions in the “King of Kings,” It is this report which Mr. Flinn is taking to Mr. De Mille for his consideration. The changes are intended to meet the objections voiced in Jewish circles that the showing of the “king of Kings” film in Eastern Europe would provoke violent outbreaks.
Mr. Flinn’s trip has also to do with representations made against projected films on Jewish subjects, now in the making in the De Mille studios.
