Although the bonds based on the loan are intended for sale in Europe, it is considered likely that a portion of them will reach the American public through purchases and reseales by New York bankers. In the financial district the loan arrangement was accepted as evidence of the success of the Palestine venture, which was undertaken shortly after the signing of the Versailles Treaty, and which has been marked by ambitious expansion projects under Jewish leadership.

The guarantee by the Bank of England created interest here, as it has been rarely that such guarantees have been given except during the war period.

Moses Ottanheimer has been appointed a member of the Baltimore Jail Board by Mayer William F. Broening.

Maxwell Suls was appointed a member of the Baltimore Board of Zoning Appeals by Mayor Broening.

The New York Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Sociaties, in its Blue Book for 197, published the names of $2,212 individuals who have contributed to the support of the Federation.

The total amount contributed by the 32,212 members was $4,722,061.
