A committee to supervise the construction of the Jerusalem archaeological museum, donated by John D. Rockefeller. Jr. by a gift of $2,000,000, was appointed by High Commissioner Lord Plumer.
The Director of Public Works, Richmond, was appointed chairman of the Committee. Among the members is Assistant District Commissioner E. Keith-Roach.
An address was delivered by Mrs. Estelle M. Sternberger at one of the sessions. Mrs. Sternberger also presented a report of the activities of the National Council of Jewish Women during the past two years.
Miss Cecilla Hazovsky, Secretary of the Council’s Department of Immigrant Aid and Immigrant Education, led one of the discussion groups at the conference on immigration questions.
Jacob Zucker, Palestinian Jewish artist, will have an exhibition of thirty-five pantungs at the Raleigh Hotel, New York City, opening December 10th.
This is Mr. Zucker’s first exhibition in America. His work is well known in France, where he studied a number of years, and in Palestine.
He deals with both Eastern and contemporary American subjects. The exhibition will include portraits, landscapes and still life representations.
Sol Elsen. Toronto attorney, is a candidate for alderman in the forthcoming Municipal elections. Mr. Eisen is a candidate from Ward 5, one of the largest wards in the city. The elections will take place January 2.
