A protest against the student outbreaks in Roumania was voiced in a resolution adopted at a meeting called at the First Roumanian Congregation by the United Roumanian Jews of Illinois.
In the resolution the meeting appealed “to all right thinking men and particularly to the President of the United States, to the Secretary of State, to the League of Nations, to take notice of this crime perpetrated against humanity and civilization to join their good offices with the Roumanian Government toward preventing repetition of such atrocities in the future.”
Copies of the resolution were forwarded to President Coolidge, Secretary of State Kellogg and the League of Nations.
Meyer Kussy banker and communal worker of Newark, N. J. died Friday at the age of 67.
Mr. Kursy was president of the West Side Trust Company, the People’s National and the South Side National Bank and Trust Company of Newark. At the time of his death he was treasurer of many charitable organizations.
