Two exhibitions of Jewish colonization work, one depicting the work in Palestine and the other in Crimea and Soviet Russia, will be a part of the exhibition at the Leipsiger Messe which will be opened in the spring of 1929.
The Palestine exhibit is being arranged by the Zionist Executive. The Comzet, the Soviet governmental department for settling Jews on the land, will arrange the Russian exhibit, which will be a part of the Soviet pavilion. Whether or not the Palestine exhibit is to be a part of the British Empire pavilion or a separte unit has not been decided.
SEEKS FUND FOR JERUSALEM SYNAGOGUE HIT BY QUAKE
Rabbi Chaim Weitman has arrived in the United States from Jerusalem to seek a fund for the Jerusalem synagogue, Tifereth Israel, which was seriously damaged by the earthquake in Palestine.
The synagogue was founded eighty years ago by the famous Chassidic Rabbi of Ryzhin and is the only Chassidic synagogue in Jerusalem. The damage was so serious that if repairs are not started soon it is feared the building will collapse, Rabbi Weitman stated.
It has been estimated that the sum of $10,000 is required for the repairs.
