Immigration Opponents, at Washington Meeting, Ask Further Restrictions

Resolutions urging greater restriction of immigrants were adopted at a conference held at Continental Memorial Hall here yesterday, under the auspices of an organization calling itself “Key Men of America.”

The conference was called to oppose the repeal of the National Origins clause in the present immigration law.

Among the speakers at the two sessions yesterday were: Congressman Albert Johnson, Chairman of the House Committee on Immigration and Naturalization, Dr. H. H. Laughlin, eugenic expert, and Mrs. W. S. Walker, Chairman National Defense Committee of the D. A. R., Senator David A. Reed of Pennsylvania, Congressman John A. Box of Texas and William McCarroll, Vice President, New York State Chamber of Commerce. Fred R. Marvin presided.
