Chief Rabbi is Chosen by Moscow Congregations

Jewish congregations in Moscow have united in the choice of Rabbi Jacob Kleinimus as the Chief Rabbi of Moscow.

The election of the Moscow Chief Rabbi was one of the most interesting religions event in the capital of Soviet Russia. Several candidates were named including the “Petrograd Maggid.” The candidacy of Rabbi Kleinimus had the support of the Lubawischer Rebbe who is now resident here.

Rabbi Kleinimus is one of the out standing Tal? authorities in Eastern Europe, being known as the Gaon of Eishishok.
