A colony in Samaria will be named Natanyah in honor of Nathan Straus on the occasion of his eightieth birthday. I. Ben-Avi and O. Ben-Ami, representatives of the B’nai Benjamin, organization of sons of Palestine pioneers, who are now in this country, announced yesterday.
According to the plan the Natanyah colony will be established near the colonies Binyaminiah and Herzliah on a stretch of 2,000 dunams which will provide for fifty settlers. The land and a part of the equipment will be furnished by the B’nai Benjamin. The initial cost will be $200,000.
Mr. Straus when informed by the delegates of the decision of the organization, thanked the B’nai Benjamin for the honor bestowed upon him and expressed the hope that the new colony will be a success.
