Disavowal of the demands voiced by a minority group in Alsace Lorraine in support of a movement to obtain autonomy for the two provinces was made by Armand Bloch, president of the Association of Rabbis in Alsace Lorraine.

In a letter addressed to Poincare, Dr. Bloch thanked him for suspending the publication of the journal, “Autonomist,” which is the organ of the movement. In voicing this opinion, Dr. Bloch declared that he speaks in behalf of the entire Jewish population in Alsace Lorraine.
