A numerus clausus on the Schechita, the Jewish method of slaughtering animals, was asked in a resolution passed by the agricultural committee of the Prussian Diet.
The Government was urged to introduce a bill prohibiting the slaughtering of animals according to schechita methods in a number larger than the proportion of the Jewish population in the country. The resolution also urged the introduction of stunning by electricity, even for Jewish consumption, if the Jewish religion permits this.
