Rabbi Meir Don Plotzki, famous Talmudic scholar known as the Gaon of Ostrow, who visited the United States last year, was taken seriously ill. He will have to undergo an operation, physicians declare.

This decision of the Council is hailed by the Hungarian press as very significant. The newspapers comment that by this decision the Council of the League of Nations expressed its view that its role in the numerus clausus question has been ended.
