Pledges thus far secured toward the 1928 allocations of the Charity Chest of the Fur Industry exceed $460,000. Michael Hollander declared in his annual report at the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Chest held at the Fur Merchants Club.

Mr. Hollander was unanimously elected honorary president of the Charity Chest after he had declined reelection as president, declaring that he did not think it proper for one man to monopolize the honor. He had served as president since the inception of the Chest in 1925. Adolph Engel was elected president to succeed Mr. Hollander.

In his report Mr. Hollander declared that although business for 1928 is not yet normal, the pledges already received are promising of a successful budget for the social welfare institutions.
