Another large group of Polish Jews is threatened with losing their livelihood as a result of the enactment by the city council of an ordinance instituting a municipal milk supply.

The city of Warsaw consumes daily 100,000 litre of milk. This milk is brought from the surrounding towns and villages mainly through the Jewish dairymen. A large number of Polish Jews have for many generations been engaged in this business.

The resolution passed in the City Council by a majority vote over the protest of the Jewish councillors and a section of the Polish nationalists. The motion had the support of the councillors of the Polish Socialist Party, Christian Democrats and the Jewish Socialists.
