Alexander Rappoport, founder of the first Yiddish daily in Russia, “Der Freund,” died in Tel Aviv. “Der Freund,” was established in 1903 in St. Petersburg.
Rappoport, who was a noted Zionist, came to Palestine in 1921. He was 66 years old.
