Jews Join in Celebration of Lithuanian Independence

The Jewish population took an active part in the celebrations held throughout Lithuania to day on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Lithuanian Independence. All the Jewish National Councils and the Jewish religious and economic organizaitons participated. Services were held in the synagogues and special meetings were held in all the Jewish institutions.

Several prominent Jewish social workers have been awarded a medal specially struck by the Government for the occasion. The president of the Jewish Society Ezra, Dr. S. Wolf, on the invitation of the Government delivered an address in Yiddish over the government radio on the significance of the anniversary to Lithuanian Jewry.
