Nine of the 22 students who were arrested on May 6 for demonstrating outside the home of the Rector of Bucharest University, Professor Pangrati, have been released till the trial is opened.
The inquiry into the case has just been completed. The ringleaders, Sirbulescu, President of the Bucharest Christian Students’ Organization, Dimitrescu and Constantinescu, remain under arrest. The charges against them include breaking into the home of the Rector and resisting the authorities. All.. the registers of the Union of Christian Students have been confiscated by the authorities.
