Paul von Hindenburg, President of the German Republic received the Marquis of Reading, former Viceroy of India yesterday. The audience lasted for several hours.

A cable from Berlin to the “Jewish Morning Journal” quotes the Marquis of Reading in a special interview on the present Zionist controversy in the United States. He was familiar with the American controversy, the Marquis stated.

Although he would not like to take a stand in the controversy, he regrets however the damage which will result. He also commented on the recent criticism by Dr. Stephen S. Wise of Great Britain’s attitude in Palestine. This criticism is unjustified. The policy of Dr. Weizmann is the right one, he declared.
