The trial of Oscar Slater, who was released from Peterhead prison after serving eighteen years, when the Parliamentary Committee ruled that the evidence against him had been insufficient, will be opened here on July 9.

The new trial was ordered to vindicate Slater of the charge that he had murdered an aged Glasgow woman, for which he served eighteen years.
