Lord Plumer Resigns Post Due to Sharp Differences with the Colonial Office

The retirement of Lord Herbert S. Plumer from the post of High Commissioner of the Palestine Government was announced by the Colonial Office today. Lord Plumer will retire from his post in the fall, following a three months’ leave which will begin in July.

Rumors as to the possible successor for the Palestine High Commisionership are current here, the name of Sir Gilbert Clayton, former Civil Secretary of the Palestine. Government, being prominently mentioned.
