Palestine Government Exempts Public Welfare Institutions from Taxes

Exemption from taxation and the payment of customs duties was granted to religious, charitable and educational institutions by a new ordinance promulgated by the government.

The total government expenditure for the year 1928 will amount to £2,443,677, figures made public show.

This budget includes £363,656 for the police department, £273,654 public works; £175,000 public debt and loan charges, £143,619 education, £105,460 health, £127,619 for all administration expenses.

The government deficit for the first three months of 1928 amounted to £137,033.
