The separate Jewish electoral college, which the Jewish community had hoped would be abolished in the forthcoming elections, will be in force, according to the new electoral system annouced.
By the new system, the Jewish community, voting in a separate section, will be entitled to elect two Jewish deputies.
A protest, demanding equal suffrage with other citizens, has been presented by the Jewish community, which has voted in a separate section for nearly eight years.

Sir:
Your report of the Special Conference of the American Jewish Congress, held June 10, enlarged rather considerably upon the discussion of the question of finances and problems of money-raising, to the disadvantage. if not exclusion, of other aspects of the proceedings relating to the work of the Congress and plans of convening the new session of delegates at the end of this years. In reference to this discussion a serious error has crept in to the effect that the organization now had a deficit of $40,000. As the actual present deficit amounts to only one-half of this sum, namely $20,000. we would be obliged to you for publishing this correction.
It may be added that this indebtedness represents an accumulation of about two or three years during which the important work carried on here and abroad, has involved larger outlays than the amounts whichw we have been able to collect, though the regular contributions and per capita tax from affillated and co-operating organizations, continue to furnish the basis of our budget.
