The difference between the policy of the notorious Hungarian anti-Semites banded together in the Race Purifiers’ Organization, and the policy of the Bethlen government lies merely in the pace of realization, declared Julius Goemboes, leader of the group at a meeting of the Race Purifiers.
The group has recently dissolved to join the government party. In explaining this action. Goemboes stated that the unification did not involve any change in policy or sacrifice of principle.
The interpretation put by Goemboes on the government policy as being calculated at a well-planned, slow but sure driving out of Hungary Jewry from the country’s economic and political system, made a painful impression among Hungarian Jews, astonishment being expressed at the fact that neither the government nor the government party has contradicted Goemboes’ statements.
