The investigation of charges that many cemetery associations are missanaging their properties, was renewed yesterday by Attorney General Ottinger who sent out questionnaires to every association in the Metropolitan area by which he seeks information concerning the status of the corporations, business methods, disbursements and cemetery plot control.
“Complaints have been submitted against a number of such organizations and several hearings have been held before me,” Mr. Ottinger said. “It appears that in some cases substantial grounds exist for such complaints.”
Under Robert S. Conklin, Assistant Attorney General in charge, several hearings have been held with regard to the operation of cemeteries and charges which have been made as to mismanagement of the properties.
