A tragic case demonstrating the hardships caused by the immigration restrictions separating families has attracted wide attention here.

Chasia Einbinder, an emgrant from Russia who arrived here with five small children, applied to the Canadian consul here for a visa that she might join her husband in Canada. When the visa was refused, the woman took it so much to heart that she lost her mind. Having no relatives here the mother and the five children were placed at quarantine headquarters.
