N. Y. Women’s Council Lay Center Cornerstone

The cornerstone of the new Community House of the New York Section of the National Council of Jewish Women at 1122 Forrest Avenue, New York will be laid on Wednesday, September 12, at 4 p.m.

Judge Albert Cohn will be the principal speaker.

The new structure will house the Immigrant Aid, Legal Aid, Social Service and other activities of the organization. In addition the building will serve the recreational, cultural and educational needs of the neighborhood.

The president of the New York Section, Mrs. Nathan Straus, jr. will preside.

The opening program of a large number of Council Sections will be devoted to peace themes according to Mrs Arthur Brin, Chairman of the Department of Peace, of the National Council of Jewish Women.

The Pennsylvania State Conference plans to open its annual meeting at Philadelphia, with the presentation of a peace pageant. Many sections have begun rehearsals for the presentation of the peace playlet, “When,” by Mrs. A. S. Kohler, for Armistice Day.
