Zionist Executive Issues Statement on Wall Incident

The Zionist Executive here issued the following statement on the incident at the Wailing Wall on Yom Kippur.

“The entire Jewish world learns with profound regret of the disturbances which occurred in Jerusalem. These deplorable incidents speak for themselves.” The Executive reserves further comment pending the receipt of fuller information.

Two years ago, the statement goes on, the whole question, involving deep Jewish sentiments, was brought to the notice of the mandatory power of the League of Nations. The Executive expresses hope that means will be found to put an end by common consent to the position which is now causing great concern. It earnestly trusts that the question will receive serious consideration.

ROSENWALD DECLARES FOR HERBERT HOOVER

Julius Rosenwald praised Herbert Hoover’s general qualifications for the Presidency, and said he was well worthy of support for that office, in a statement issued through the Republican National Committee in New York.
