(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

Only two Jewish instructors were appointed to posts in Austrian universities for the forthcoming academic year.

The appointment of only two Jews to the universities is viewed in Jewish circles as indicative of a discriminatory policy. It was pointed out that Jewish instructors are not promoted to the position of Associate Professors. Many Jewish scholars cannot achieve even the post of instructor, despite qualifications and often world-wide reputation, it was declared.
