The Jewish population of Tel Aviv and Jaffa numbers 43,581, according to a census taken during the month of September. The population of Tel Aviv proper is 36,574. The number of Jewish men in the two towns is 21,607. There are two centenarians.
According to countries or origin the Jewish population is divided as follows: 33920 Ashkenazim 6,256 Sephardim and 3,134 Yemenites.
