(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

The publication of an order by the Federal government of the Republic, recognizing the Jewish High Holidays as days of rest for its Jewish officials became known today. The order states that officials and employees of the Jewish faith should be freed from duty on both days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur wherever conditions permit.

A banquet will be tendered tonight to the worker and offices of the Menorah Home for the Aged and Infirm on the completion of its additional wing, which will house another hundred inmates, erected at a cost in the neighborhood of $250,000, realized from voluntary subscriptions. The banquet is to be held in the building which has just been completed. Five hundred guests are expected to attend.

The toastmaster will be Bennett E. Siegelstoin, and the speakers include Federal Judge Grover Moskowitz, District Attorney Charles A. Dodd, Commissioner Bird S. Coler Dr. Joseph E. Braunstein, president of the Home, and Dr. Lissman.
