Seabord Zionist Region Executive Adopts Budget

A sum in excess of $121,000 was raised in the Seaboard Zionist Region during the past year for Zionist work in Palestine, according to a report made to the semiannual meeting here of the Seaboard Zionist Region Executive. The meeting which was called jointly by the Seaboard Zionist Region, of which Harry T. Kellman is President and the Hadassah Regional Unit. of which Mrs. Israel Shapiro of Baltimore is president, devoted itself to planning for the stimulation of Zionist activities throughout the Seaboard territory and for the adoption of quotas and bugets for the United Palestine Appeal Campaigns.

One of the sessions of the Conference was addressed by Bernard Stone. Executive Secretary of the United Palestine Appeal.

The Executive Committee adopted a program for cultural and educational work in the region, which will be carried on by a Committee headed by Louis E. Spiegler of Washington. Simon J. Levin. Regional Director, reported that all the chapters in the Seaboard Region have unanimously endorsed Hadassah’s continued participation in the United Palestine Appeal.

A resolution protesting against the Wailing Wall incident was adopted.

The resolution called upon the American and World Zionist Organization to “take prompt and vigorous steps to bring this incident to the attention of the government of Palestine, who are his Britannic Majesty’s government and jointly charged with the responsibility of the safeguarding of the interest of the Jewish people in their homeland.

Rabbi Edward L. Israel of Baltimore, Chairman of the Zionist activities in Maryland. addressed the meeting.
