The existence of anti-Jewish discrimination in certain French regiments was alleged and denied when the question was brought up in parliament Friday night during the discussion on the military budget.

Deputy Henri Guernut asked the government why Jews are not admitted to the regiments of the Spahi and the Fusiliers. Minister of War Painleve replied that Jews are admitted to all Zouave regiments and that there is no ostracism whatsoever.
