Over $23,000 above the objective of $260,000 was subscribed by the Jewish community of Montreal for the relief of Jewish poor and needy, according to the final figures issued by the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of Montreal. The Federation Drive closed on Sunday evening, December 2, with a total of $283,287. The Hon. L. Athanase David, Provincial Secretary for Quebec, announced the Provincial Government’s donation of $5,000 to the Federation.
