The village Sunam, mentioned in the Bible, has been acquired by the Jewish National Fund. The village, occupying 7,500 dunams, is located near the colony of Merchaviah.
The Jewish National Fund also purchased 1,650 dunams at Mejdel, near Jedda, for enlarging the Hapoel Ha’Mizrachi settlement there.
