(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

Because the 800 Jewish families, inhabitants of Kibarti, were registered as Lithuanians when passports were issued by a government official, permission for the erection of a synagogue was refused by the government. In replying to the request, the government stated that according to its records, there are no Jews living in Kibarti. Representations have been made to Premier Valdemaras, who has promised an investigation.
