Five hundred persons attended a reception given in honor of Alfred M. Cohen, president of the Independent Order B’nai B’rith, at Horticultural Hall, here yesterday. President Cohen presided at the installation of the new officers of Worcester Lodge, I. O. B. B.
Mr. Cohen was presented with a gold key to the city by a representative of the Mayor. In his address he reviewed the work and the influence of the Order, declaring that the mission of the Order is that of uniting Israel.
Dr. Harry S. Saidel was installed as president and Harry I. Shapiro as vice-president.
Following the reception a dinner was given in honor of President Cohen and Dr. Boris D. Bogen, Executive Secretary of the Order.
