The central authorities were called to give an account of what transpired in Haskovo recently when an insignificant incident led to the spread of a ritual murder agitation against Jews.

Deputy Dimiter Neykov, Socialist, asked the Home Secretary yesterday whether he considers the action of the local police to have been in conformity with the laws of the country. Why did they permit the raid on the house of the local rabbi? Do the authorities intend to punish the culprits severely? Deputy Neykov asked, urging the Minister of the Interior to inform the House, as to what measures he intends to take to protect the Jewish population against further conspiracies.
