Samoilovitch to Join Nobile in New Expedition to North Pole

Rudolf Samoilovitch, the Russian Jewish captain of the Krassin icebreaker which rescued the survivors of the “Italia” expedition, will join General Nobile in a new expedition to the North Pole, it is reported here from Rome.

According to the despatches, Nobile and Samoilovitch agreed to undertake the expediton in May for the purpose of seeking those members of the “Italia” who remained in the upper part of the airship when it waas torn apart. The expedition is being undertaken in the belief that the survivors may still be alive, and also with a view to finding the record of the scientific observations made by the Italian Jewish scientist Pontremoli on the “Italia” flight.
