Agency Conference in London April 21

The Conference of Anglo-Jewry for the purpose of demonstrating the desire of the community to participate in the extended Jewish Agency, called by the Board of Jewish Deputies, was set for April 21st, according to an announcement made. The Conference will be held at Rudoli Steiner Hall.

Chief Rabbi J. H. Hertz, the Marquess of Reading. Lord Melchett and Sir Herbert Samuel are expected to attend the Conference. Organizations which have been invited include the Federation of Synagogues, the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, the Anglo-Jewish Association, the Jewish Friendly Societies, the Beth Din, Jewish Students’ Association, the League of British Jews and all Jewish trade unions. With the invitation was sent a memorandum presenting as the object of the Jewish Agency the promotion of the establishment of the Jewish national home in the spirit of the Balfour Declaration and the Mandate for Palestine.
