A delegation of Jewish artisans of Moscow appeared today before Krylenko, the assistant state’s attorney of the Soviet Union, asking him not to liquidate the cooperative Trudkredit, the largest cooperative of Jewish artisans in Soviet Russia.
Krylenko referred the delegation to the Moscow state’s attorney, Schumiazki, stating that it is a local matter. The cooperative Trudkredit is being liquidated on the charge that the executive of the cooperative misused the privileges granted to the institution by the Soviet Government.
The Yiddish Communist paper “Emes” today published the demand that immediate measures be taken to help the Jewish artisans affected by the liquidation of the cooperative. The paper states that a number of Jewish artisans are already without work because of the lack of raw materials which the cooperative supplied. The paper also declares that a new cooperative will probably be formed in the near future.
