With the streets flanked by mounted police, Miss Elizabeth Simon, chosen as Europe’s most beautiful girl, was escorted from the railway station on her arrival here today.

Members of the Hungarian National Council, the Hungarian Ambassador at Vienna and representatives of the Hungarian colony here greeted the young Hungarian Jewish girl who, as Miss Europe, will go to America to take part in the international beauty contest at Galveston, Texas.

American Ambassador Washburn was present at the reception given Miss Simon at the Hungarian embassy.

In connection with Miss Simon’s visit, the “Arbeiter Zeitung” asks why Miss Simon’s brother is living abroad and whether it is due to the numerus clausus in Hungary.
