“Jewess, you are no Hungarian,” was the greeting accorded Miss Elizabeth Simon, young Hungarian Jewish girl chosen as “Miss Europe” at the beauty contest held in Paris, when she retured here from Vienna where she was given a regal reception by the Hungarian Embassy. While motoring through the streets of Budapest, anti-Semitic students ran after the car, shouting epithets.

A deputation of Hungarian ladies who approached Miss Simon on her return, addressed here as “Miss Palestine.”
