Prince Carl of Sweden, President of the Swedish Red Cross Society, has sent a check to Dr. Ehrenpreis, Chief Rabbi of Sweden, in support of the campaign launched in the Scandinavian countries by the London Federation of Jewish Relief Organizations on behalf of the Jewish population of the Ukraine.

The campaign in the Scandinavian countries is being conducted by Vladimir Grossman.

“As President of the Swedish Red Cross Society,” the Prince declared in a message accompanying his gift, “I am well aware of the grievous circumstances now prevailing in South Russia, and the condition of dire necessity which exists among the Jewish population in the Ukraine. I therefore warmly commend the campaign for funds which the British Federation of Jewish Relief Organizations has launched among the Jewish communities of Sweden to assist their necessitous coreligionists in the distressed area.”

At Copenhagen, a special committee was formed, headed by Chief Rabbi Dr. Friediger, and former Chief Rabbi Professor Simonsen. The campaign is being led at Malmo by the Chief Rabbi Dr. Joseph Wohlstein, and at Stockhold Chief Rabbi Dr. Ehrenpreis is being assisted by Dr. Furstenberg, President of the Stockholm Jewish community. The Norwegian Red Cross Society at Oslo is also giving its support to the campaign.
