Those desiring to help the minorities had better advise them to reach an understanding with the majority population of the country in which they reside and become loyal to that government was the statement made by Prime Minister Zaleski of Poland.
Speaking at a banquet of the Society for Investigating International Problems, Minister Zaleski declared that he regrets that Canada submitted the Minorities Memorandum without previously consulting directly the interested governments.
The last debate in the League of Nations Council, he said, beneficially influenced the minorities’ understanding of the situation. They now realize that instead of awaiting foreign help it is better to accept the standpoint of sincere loyalty to the country in which they reside.
