Sir John Chancellor, the High Commissioner, in opening the exhibition stated that what Tel Aviv and all Palestine Jewry has achieved is a brilliant record. “The exhibits are numerous and interesting. Now you must learn the art of selling your products. I am glad to observe that among the exhibitors are many British firms, thus trade connections with England are being fostered,” the High Commissioner declared.

“You will learn the methods of penetrating the world markets. The availability of cheap electrical power thanks to the Ruttenberg works, will assist in the industrial development of the country.” The High Commissioner concluded with an appeal to tourists present to make investments in the country.

M. Dizengoff, Mayor of Tel Aviv, in his address of welcome emphasized that the exhibition marks the end of the crisis and the beginning of a period of prosperity. “On its twentieth birthday Tel Aviv is showing what the Jews in Palestine have achieved in the fields of industry, agriculture and education during such a short period.
