Thirty-one witnesses in the Pskov court at the trial of the Communist worker Trofimov for the murder of his Jewish fellow-worker, Bolsheminikov, testified that the murder was a cold, premeditated act with anti-Semitism as its motive. Only one of the witnesses sought to depict Trofimov in a favorable light, as a “noble-minded worker who conducted propaganda in the factory dormitory against anti-Semitism.”
The arguments of the public prosecutor and the counsel for the defense began. The verdict is expected late today.
