Anti-Semitism as an issue is threatening to cause a split in the Austrian Heimwhr, making more intense the governmental crisis in the throes of which the Republic finds itself today.
According to reports in the radical press, Dr. Steidle has categorically decided against the official adoption of an anti-Semitic policy as formulated by Dr. Phrimer. He demanded that this policy be revoked.
These reports were not borne out by information current in the parliament lobby, where it was stated that the reports of a split are premature. It was declared, however, that the differences are of a sharp nature and that the entire Seipel party is opposed to the anti-Semitic statement of principles made by the Phrimer group.
