Organization of Texas Rabbis Elects Officers

With the election of Rabbi Samuel Rosinger of Beaumont as president, the Kallah organization of Texas rabbis, closed a two-day annual session at Congregation Shaareth Israel. Rabbi Harry A. Merfeld of Fort Worth, was named vice-president and Rabbi Charles Blumenthal of Waco, secretary.

Rabbi Rosinger succeeds Dr. David Lefkowitz, rabbi of Temple Emanu-El, who declined a nomination for re-election. Rabbi Abraham L Schechter of Houston, who preceded Dr. Lefkowitz as president, was made honorary president.

Papers on Jewish education and scholarship were presented by Rabbi Henry Barnston of Houston, Rabbi H. J. Horowitz of Galveston, Rabbi Rosinger and Dr. Lefkowitz. Rabbi Martin Zielonka of El Paso served as chairman of the session.
