The nationalistic press is attempting to create another Barmath scandal with the interpretations it seeks to impose upon a bank failure which is now agitating Berlin.

One of the figures in the failure is a man named Uralzeff. Fifty million Marks are said to have been lost in the failure, causing damage to thousands of investors. The newspapers now claim that Uralzeff is an “Eastern Jews.” The fact is that Uralzeff is a native Russian and a former officer of the Judenitsch White Army.

A total of $10,000 was raised by the Jewish Educational Alliance of Savannah, Ga. to wipe out the organization’s indebtedness. The campaign began with a banquet at which more than a third of the sum was raised. The campaign committee was headed by Morris H. Berustein.
