The Jewish community of Nowy Targ, near Cracow, lived through several hours of anxiety on Thursday, the last day of Passover, when a ritual murder agitation was started.
The Christian servant girl of the Jewish merchant, Singer, disappeared for several hours. Immediately this was exploited to spread a rumor that the girl was “the victim of the Jews.” The police succeeded in finding the girl, unharmed.
A similar incident occurred in the village Muszana Nizhua, where a Christian boy disappeared. After a rumor of ritual murder had been started in the village the boy was luckily found several hours later.
